RF, IF Design (Superhetrodyne, Multiband Receiver)  Project Overview

   Amature Radio Receiver and Transmitter

Multiband Receiver
Bill designed an original superheterodyne, multiband receiver.

Then, Bill built and successfully tested  his a superheterodyne, multiband receiver.

In addition, Bill built, from scratch, and and successfully tested a multiband ham transmitter.
(Unlike the receiver, this transmitter was built from a
ARRL Handbook design).

Significance
of this Accomplishment

Significance •  Bill demonstrated his expertise in RF design and fabrication:
(e.g. LC Filters-he calculated and wound all the tuning and filter coils, Amplifiers -he impedance matched and biased them, RF Layout and Shielding -he designed and built those, too).

Skills Transferable to Your Projects:

  Juggler
Leadership / Management
• Bill led the entire Receiver and transmitter project.

Theory / R&D
• Bill demonstrated mastery of many aspects of electronics and physics theory.

Hardware
•  As mentioned above,
Bill designed, built and successfully tested an original superheterodyne, multiband receiver.
In addition, Bill built, from scratch, and and successfully tested a multiband ham transmitter.

Future Opportunities

  Futue Clock
By pushing beyond the current state-of-the-art,
there are these opportunities:

•  As already demonstrated in the self-matching doubly balanced mixer, Bill's
knowledge and creative skills have been applied to state-of-the-art RF circuitry.

•  Bill's hands-on experience in RF design and construction adds to his exceptional
breadth of R&D knowledge and skills, which are applicable to numerous future projects.
